iHow it is calculated
Couriers charge the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = length × width × height ÷ divisor (5000 for most express air, 6000 for economy):
volumetric = L × W × H ÷ divisor · chargeable = max(actual, volumetric)
A 40 × 30 × 20 cm parcel weighing 3 kg at divisor 5000: 40 × 30 × 20 ÷ 5000 = 4.8 kg volumetric > 3 kg actual, so you are billed on ~5 kg.

?Frequently asked questions
What is volumetric (dimensional) weight?
It is a parcel's size expressed as a weight: length × width × height (cm) ÷ a divisor. Couriers bill the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight, so a large but light parcel is charged on its size.
Which divisor should I use — 5000 or 6000?
Most international express services (DHL, FedEx, UPS) use 5000. Some economy and road services use 6000 or 4000. Turkish domestic couriers use 3000 (the 'desi' system). Enter the divisor your carrier quotes.
How is the total shipping cost calculated?
Chargeable weight × price per kg × number of parcels. There is no universal price table — enter the per-kg (or per-desi) rate from your carrier's tariff.
Is the chargeable weight rounded up?
Yes, carriers usually round the chargeable weight up (to the next 0.5 or 1 kg / whole desi). Use the rounding toggle to match your carrier.
