iHow it is calculated
Pick a material and enter the dimensions. Concrete volume = area × thickness; bricks = wall area × units per m²; paint = area ÷ coverage × coats:
concrete = area × thickness · paint = area ÷ coverage × coats
A 50 m² slab at 10 cm = 5 m³ of concrete — about 1,800 kg of cement (~36 × 50 kg bags) for a C25 mix, plus sand and gravel.

?Frequently asked questions
How much cement is in a cubic metre of concrete?
It depends on the grade: roughly 300 kg/m³ for a lean mix up to about 360 kg/m³ for C25. The tool lets you pick the mix and the bag size (25, 40 or 50 kg) and gives the number of bags.
How many bricks per square metre?
It depends on the brick/block size — from about 13 blocks/m² for large hollow blocks to ~60 bricks/m² for a single leaf of standard UK brick. Pick a preset or enter your own units per m², then add a waste allowance.
How much paint do I need?
Litres = wall area ÷ coverage × number of coats. Coverage is typically 10–12 m² per litre per coat; two coats is standard. The tool adds a waste allowance.
Should I add waste?
Yes. Add roughly 10% for bricks and straight-laid tiles, and 15–20% for diagonal or herringbone tile layouts and offcuts. The waste percentage is an input for brick, paint and tile.
